Save Time
Does eating healthy take more time? I’m not so sure. Instead of defrosting meat you’re soaking beans. A nitrate filled deli sandwich with mayo takes as long to assemble as does a salad. A steak cooks as long as a soup. It’s all about attitude and mindset. I wouldn’t say it takes more time but it does take more initiative and effort. Your health is worth it, but it’s great to use some shortcuts as well.
Ways to save time:
1. Cook staple items in bulk. A large pot of brown rice can turn into a sushi, Cajun red beans and rice, and Indian stir fry. A large pot of beans can be served with quinoa, used as a topping for a salad, or part of a soup. When using a food processor for a salad dressing or salsa, make enough for a week.
2. Be organized. Being messy and disorganized wastes time in any kitchen- healthy or not. Common sense.
3. TBD……. Suggestions??
